These terms are binding. Academic integrity violations, security abuse, or misuse of AI-generated content may result in session termination, account suspension, or referral to your institution.
Agreement & service
Acceptance
By using SafeExam (safexam.in or an institution-hosted deployment), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you use the platform on behalf of an institution, you confirm you have authority to bind that organization.
What SafeExam provides
SafeExam is a secure online examination platform for educational use: exam creation (manual, upload, or AI-assisted), student sessions, proctoring signals, coding evaluation, live monitoring, and results export.
Eligibility
Users must meet minimum age requirements set by their institution (typically 13+ with parental consent where required). Educator accounts may require approval by a platform administrator.
Academic integrity
Student conduct
Students must complete work independently unless the educator explicitly allows collaboration. Cheating, impersonation, unauthorized aids, or attempts to bypass monitoring may result in session termination and institutional discipline.
Educator responsibility
Educators are responsible for exam content accuracy, appropriate difficulty, accommodations, and reviewing AI-generated material before publication.
Fair assessment
Institutions must comply with applicable laws and policies on discrimination, accessibility, and reasonable accommodations.
AI-generated content
Educator tools
The Question Intelligence Engine (QIE) helps draft MCQ and coding questions using third-party AI. Output may contain errors; educators must review and approve all content before use in graded exams.
No warranty on AI output
SafeExam does not guarantee that AI-generated questions are factually correct, unbiased, or free of copyright issues. Final responsibility rests with the publishing educator and institution.
Acceptable use
Do not use AI tools to generate harmful, discriminatory, or plagiarized content. Abuse may result in account suspension.
Exam sessions & monitoring
Browser requirements
Students must use a supported modern browser with a stable connection. Fullscreen, tab-focus rules, and optional camera/microphone checks may apply as configured by the educator.
Consent to monitoring
Starting a proctored exam constitutes consent to session logging (tab switches, focus events, violation scoring, etc.) described in the Privacy Policy.
Auto-submit
Repeated integrity violations or expiry of the exam timer may trigger automatic submission. Educators configure thresholds where supported.
Prohibited conduct
Security abuse
You may not attempt to bypass authentication, tamper with sessions, scrape the platform, reverse engineer proprietary components, or interfere with other users' exams.
Misuse of data
Exam content, student responses, and monitoring logs may only be used for legitimate educational purposes authorized by your role.
Reselling
Commercial resale or white-label use of the hosted service without written agreement is prohibited.
Institutional accounts
Administration
Institutions are responsible for provisioning educator access, deactivating leavers, and ensuring students receive exam codes securely.
Data protection
Schools and colleges using SafeExam for student data must comply with applicable education and privacy laws (e.g. FERPA, local DPA requirements) and obtain necessary consents.
Incident reporting
Report security incidents or suspected breaches to [email protected] promptly.
Intellectual property
Platform
SafeExam software, branding, and documentation are proprietary and protected by copyright and applicable intellectual property laws.
Your content
Educators retain ownership of original exam content. You grant SafeExam a license to host, process, and display content as needed to operate the service.
Disclaimers & liability
As-is service
SafeExam is provided on an 'as available' basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, specific exam outcomes, or admission decisions.
Limitation
To the extent permitted by law, SafeExam's liability is limited to fees paid for the service in the preceding twelve months, or zero for free-tier use.
Third parties
We are not responsible for outages of AI providers, code execution services, identity providers, or internet connectivity outside our control.
Suspension & termination
Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate accounts for integrity violations, abuse, legal requirements, or risk to other users. Serious cases may be referred to institutions or authorities.
Effect
Upon termination, access to dashboards and active sessions may be revoked. Data handling follows the Privacy Policy and institutional retention rules.
Legal & compliance
Report violations, request a DPA, or ask about institutional agreements.
